Therapy Hosted by Cannabis
PaydaiOTW’s latest project, Therapy Hosted by Cannabis, was born during one of the most difficult times in her life. After experiencing a death in the family, she found herself struggling emotionally and searching for a way to process the pain.
“I had a death in the family that weighed very heavily on me. I wasn’t really myself anymore.”
During a conversation with a friend, she described how THC was helping her cope with the grief. The phrase stuck with her, Therapy Hosted by Cannabis, and what started as a song idea quickly grew into a full project.
“It happened in perfect timing because I was in the midst of my journey while creating it. It became the perfect vessel to address my inner pain and make it to the other side.”
From Poetry to Music
PaydaiOTW’s journey into music began only recently. In 2023, she took a leap of faith and read a poem at an open mic event, something completely outside her comfort zone. The response was powerful. Audience members told her how deeply the poem moved them, and that moment sparked a realization. “Music is poetry. I realized if I really tried, I could make music.” Later that same month, her first song was complete, the beginning of a journey that would quickly evolve into a serious artistic pursuit.

Building Her Own Lane
One thing that surprises many listeners is that PaydaiOTW is still a relatively new artist. Despite starting in 2023, she has already developed a distinct sound and identity. Her creative process often begins without a beat. She writes to a tempo in her head or a metronome, then collaborates with her team to build the instrumentation around her vision.“I can already hear how I want the music to sound before the beat is even created.” Her music reflects confidence, resilience, and self-love, something she calls “aggressive affirmations.” “My hope is that people recognize their own power when they hear my music.”
