The DMV can be a tough audience, especially when you’re different. “Being the black sheep in the DMV, being from VA, also being a female… it’s definitely a little harder. But I show up and shut it down every time and they love me for me.” That’s the part people don’t see—the nights you perform for rooms that don’t expect you to win them over, and you leave with fans anyway or the occasional message from your favorite rappers to keep going. When you create art the resonates its only a matter of time before the world takes notice.
